Use hairspray right before you curl each section of hair instead of waiting 15 minutes after curling to spray it. Also, don't use a leave-in conditioner before you plan on curling, it can sometimes weigh your hair down.

Use a thermal styling spray...just lightly mist on the hair you're about to curl, curl it, and move on to the next section of hair. Always let your curls cool before styling them...and then hairspray away!

will get frizee and ugly looking

but use paul mitchell holding gel

plum it under your roots and leave hair alone you will have that bouncy curl look

humidity is a big factor, that could have something to do with it.

i use aquanet hairspray, and it works good. more expensive does not automatically mean it's better. besides, different products work differently for different people. you'll just have to experiment with different brands.

also, what kind of curling iron are you using? mine has 25 different heat settings and the hottest one is hotter than most curling irons (it's a revlon curling iron) so that helps my curls stay better.

You need to use a gel that will hold the curls. Biolage Gelee is wonderful for curly hair and you can also try the Ouidad products that are great also. You get them on Ouidad.com. Make sure too that you're using a hairspray that is humidity resistant.
