i dyed my hair medium brown and i dont like that its only one color. so i was thinking on adding highlights on my own but i dont have a highlighting kit. i do have another box of hair dye(medium auburn) but i dont know if i could use that to add highlights to my hair.

take a fro comb put streaks of the color down ure hair in locks where u want it then comb the area where u r doing it with the fro comb and u know the rest.

no you can also use lemon juice, or lemonade and put it in strips in your hair and layout in the sun.

You can buy bleach (for hair) at any beauty supply store (it will cost you about 5 bucks) It will cut through your brown hair and give you the result you want a lot better than store brought dye. Just make sure to do the tips only and to check on them every few minutes to attain the right blond your looking for (oh, because your hair is brown it will go through "color levels" so expect it to be reddish, then orangy, then yellowish, then different shades of blonde) The lighter you want it the longer it should stay in, dont go past 45 min though. Wash out bleach and put in conditioner so your hair wont be over damaged. Good luck!
