Curly, THICK hair- and tips/products?

I have very thick hair, medium length, very curly. I use mousse and hair pray on it often, and don't blow dry it as it gets too much volume it's too thick but it still goes quite frizzy after a while, it won't stay smooth and developes this halo of frizz. So I can't ever leave it loose. I've tried curl creams but they do nothing, and frizeez syrum doesn't work either! I don't want it thinned or straightened. it's got slight layers. Any ideas on what the hell to do with it? thanks!!

I have crazy curly hair also. I found Charles Worthington dream hair voluptuous curls defining spray works great. It doesn't make my hair crunchy and keeps me curly and frizz free for about 2 days ( I wash my hair every 2 days!) and holds without weighing down. Once a weeks also when I am in for the day, I put on Charles Worthington leave on conditioner, and it keeps my hair shiny and glossy, as I have found curly hair doesn't seem to shine as much as straight hair. And I very rarely blow dry either, only if I want big hair!

Hope this helps.

Hi, I have the exact same hair and the same problem! ive tried to use everything and nothing seems to work but i started using pink groco complex 3000 which i got from a asian market stall which seems to do the trick! x

hi i am a hair dresser and other than trying every product on the market to see which one works best i don't know what to suggest i would try to use a serum when your hair is wet other than mousse as mousse gives volume and serum will ease the curl and smooth it once your hair is dry use your hands and scrunch in some more serum this will add shine and not frizzy volume try that and see if it works better for you

dont use moose as this adds volume to your hair.

use a spray gel type product or a spray curl definer to help stop the frizz. try to keep your hair dry. moisture will make the frizz worse.

whenever you get your hair cut ask for it to be thinned out.

frizeeze is a rubbiush product. you are best paying a bit more for salon products as these will work loads better.

always ask your hairdresser for advice.

hey girl....i use to have the same problem...but im in a cosmetology course %26amp; you'll learn amazing things about your hair %26amp; body in classes like that you'd be suprised....

but neway...lol

i use a product from "matrix" called extra Big Trix.

its mousse...its in a tall skinny red bottle with "bT" in 2 vertically intersecting cirlces....

9 times outta 10 you can find it in any salon....jus ask for a "Matrix product called extra BigTrix....its inexpensive too...%26amp; leaves your hair without the frizz%26amp; doesnt leave your hair all hard %26amp; crunchy like hairspray, gel, etc.

also check the ingredients in your shampoo....make sure that it doesnt contain a high amount of alcohol or any at all....because alcohol causes major dry hair....

%26amp; try using a conditioner....give it enuff time to soak in too.....it will really help put back the silky %26amp; soft feelin bak into your hair that hair products, pollution,blowdrying...straighting %26amp; everyday life takes out of your hair...

and try useing BIOSILK or any products of that sort...it can make you hair shinny %26amp; make ne frizz go away if u have any!! when first using it u might have to play with the amount that u use....but youll get it!!

ummmmmmmmmmmm u sound jst like me and im exactly the same postion as you. ive got one little tip thoough dont try to acheive the same look twice because youl just end upin even more of a mess!!! but one big tip NEVER use a brush on it always comb it but only when it is wet because brushes can increase the frizz!! hope it helped

Curly, THICK hair- and tips/products?

try and grow out your layers as they just add more texture and volume.

try a leave in conditioner to make your hair look nice and heatlthy.

use a serum that you apply after your hair is dry, swarzkopf do a good one, its a creme, (its white) but its thick and really controls the hair.

next time you condition your hair - apply lots of rich conditioner (like kerestase masquintense) to dry hair - then wrap it in a warm damp towel and leave it for an hour or two. shampoo it out.

you could also try curling a few of the top sections of your hair - i find that straighteners curl your hair better than curling tongs - this will keep them in place.

also - it could be that you tie your hair back - where you tie your bobble in you could be snapping the hair. make sure you always use a soft bobble - even a scrunchie.

hope some of these tips work. email me if you need anymore,.

Wow more girls with the same hair!!!!! I have so many problems with mine sometimes just want to shave it off. Found a pretty good product(s). The Charles Worthington Q%26amp;A line for uncontrollable hair. I haven't seen it in the US (bought it in the UK) but I'm sure it's available online. Using serum first helps a lot (the Q%26amp;A line stuff seriously is the best), then following up by some kind of curl cream/mousse.. which normally does the trick without hair spray.. check that stuff out! And good luck, I feel for you girl.

I have very curly hair and I also have tried everything.

I use umberto gianni curl friends scrunching jelly, which works really well. I would use a hair mask (shae butter is good) once a week and steam your hair, you can have a really hot bath and the steam will help activate the mask.

I never towel dry my hair, because it promotes frizz.

I try not to touch my hair too much and not seperate te curls. Also think about the cut of your hair you go to a good hairdresser, one that knows curly hair, long layers are good for culry hair, you can also get the hairdresser to talk you through some styles you can wear day to day.
