it depends on the curl you want..tight or loose? the real deal though, it not the iron, it's what product you put on your hair to hold the curl. i would suggest going to a good salon and having them do your hair how you want and then, if it stays, buy those products to reproduce what they had done. it's experimental..and it'll take a few trys if you go buy stuff at the drug store. i've always found that when i do it the way i said, i have great results.

i would think that either would work. it all depends on the look you are going for.

to hold the curl...try spraying your hair first, then curling it and then spraying it again.

personally i would use a hairspray that came in the areosol can (like aquanet) b/c i think that those sprays hold better than the pump ones.

have someone help you spray your hair to make sure you get all of it.

my hair is just like yours it is medium length, stick straight, and hard to curl

i suggest the curlers that you leave in (maybe a medium sized unless you really want ringlets) those ones work well and keep hair curly for a while

if you want an iron, then conair has good ones

to keep the curls in long, use a TON of hair spray i know it sounds bad for your hair but i works

It depends on what size curls you want. My hair is straight and just past my shoulders and I use a large barrel. If you use a small barrel you will end up with tighter curls. You should put some styling product in your hair and let it dry, then curl and spray if you want it to hold for a long time.

In cross section, straight hair is ROUND while curly hair is OVAL in shape. The FLATTER the oval, the curlier the hair.

Try it sometime, run a strand of hair tightly between two fingernails tightly. It will curl up.

It seems logical then to choose a SMALLER diameter curling iron and put the hair on it tightly to FLATTEN the hair out, thereby making it MORE curly.

If you want gentle waves instead of curls, use a large diameter curling iron.

both work, but the smaller curling iron will take forever, and medium size usually lets more heat get to the entire part you curl, so the medium would probably stay better.
