I have naturally black hair (asian/mexican). Is it possible to get it to medium brown at the salon?

i dont want it too look brassy or too fake. i'm thinking like Theresa's hair on "passions." I really like that color. Like a deep chestnut brown. is that even possible without completely damaging my nice little hairs?

the hair dye will always damage the hair somewhat...so you must take a risk if you really want to achieve this colour. i suggest going to the salon, because going lighter is more difficult, but you can try dying your hair with a dyebox from the local drugstore.

choose l'oreal feria - they have nice colours

It sounds like you have beautiful hair now. Why change it?

i agree, black hair IS beautiful. since it's so dark, it appears to be the shiniest of hair colors. if you style it well and keep it healthy, it will not be hard for you to stand out. good luck!
